Suggested Detailed Itinerary

Day 1/15

Cairo: Your private guide and driver will pick you up at the time your flight arrives. You will then be taken to your 5-star hotel for checking-in. This is another opportunity for you to discuss additional excursions, seek advice, and ask for help in things you may want to do. You will then be left to rest.

Cairo: After breakfast, your private guide will take you to visit the Giza Plateau, where you will be greeted by the most breathtaking sight of the great Pyramids of Giza and their eternal companion, Sphinx. You will get the opportunity to explore these amazing structures that stirred the imaginations of many generations with their mystical presence and history.

After your visit to the Great Pyramids of Giza, you will head to the famous Cairo Museum where you will get a chance to visit artifacts as old as 4600 years. The antiquities of the Egyptian museum are a rare opportunity to get familiar with the history of the dynasties that ruled Egypt and be even exposed to Roman, Greek, and Persian cultures when they ruled Egypt in past times.

If open, you will visit the Grand Egyptian Museum of Egypt instead, which is scheduled to open late 2023.

Aswan: Depending on your booking, you will fly today to Aswan where the famous Elephantine Island is located. Once checked in, you will be taken to visit the famous Nubian Bazaar (the Souq), the temple of the beautiful goddess Isis located on the island of Philae. It is said that Isis cried deep and hard over her slain husband Osiris and from her tears the Nile was formed. In Aswan you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Nile later in the evening.

Aswan: This is the day when you will experience the stunning view of the famous Abu Simbel temples. The rock-cut massive structure is comprised of two temples. It is one of the most recognized temples in the world. The temple was carved out of the mountainside in the 13th century BCE. This site memorializes the significant rule of the Pharaoh Ramesses II, his wife Nefertari (not to be confused with queen Nefertiti, the mother of king Tutankhamen) and children.

Aswan: Today you may wish to take a traditional Felucca ride on the Nile. Experience the calmness of this magnificent and historic river. As the longest river in the world, its sources deep in Africa, remained a mystery for millennia.

In the afternoon, treat yourself to a tea with mint on the terrace of the Legend Old Cataract Hotel. After renovations that took place between 2008-2011, the famous hotel built in 1899 by Thomas Cook, it is now open offering more beauty and elegance. Perhaps this is the time you brush on your Agatha Christie who stayed in this hotel and placed portion of her famous novel Death on the Nile in this very hotel.

Luxor: Our private guide and driver will take you to Luxor where you will be visiting an impressive collection of ancient sites. After checking in in your hotel, you will be whisked away to visit the famous complex structure of temples, the magnificent Karnak. It is known to be the most spectacular structure of ancient temples. This complex houses many gods and was constructed over a period of 200 years.

Your tour will visit the temple site and the Avenue of Sphinx or the King’s Festivities Road, which has been closed for restorations for over seven decades. You will also get the opportunity to visit the Great Temple of Amun.

You can relax for the rest of the day or shop in the local bazaar.

Luxor: Arising early, you will be taken to the spectacular structures and tombs of the captivating Valley of the Kings or as it is known in Arabic as, Wadi Al-Muluk. This area was a part of the ancient city, Thebes. It contains 62 known tombs that exhibit rich differences in style and size. On the day a Pharaoh was born, the digging of his tomb began in this valley. You should know that there are still discoveries are made in this area. May be you can find something yourself!

During your visit to the valley, you will get to see the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, a marvel in colonnaded structures. While it is seated against a backdrop of mountains, it offers a breathtaking widely open amphitheatre. Egypt occasionally was ruled by queens or regents. Hatshepsut came to rule on 1471 BCE and was known to be an innovator and powerful ruler.

Hurghada: Depending on your arrangement, you will be driven or flown to the city of Hurghada, one of the most beautiful coastal cities on the Red Sea. Once you arrive, enjoy the beautiful beach in your hotel or talk a stroll through the small coastal city with its local charm.

Ask your guide for restaurant recommendations for your dinner and enjoy a relaxing day by the turquoise waters of the Red Sea.

Hurghada: Your guide will pick you up from the hotel to head to the marina, where you will enjoy a beautiful ride around the Red Sea. The activity today is to snorkel the exhilarating reefs of Giftun and Orange Bay.

Explore the vibrantly colored marine life in these waters. If you get a chance head over to Dolphin House where you can swim with the dolphins.

Your evening will be free as may wish to enjoy the delicious assortments of sea food some of the restaurants her offer

Cairo: After your check out from the hotel, you may wish to be driven or flown to Cairo. Once you check in at your hotel, you will be taken to the ancient Islamic parts of this vibrant city. Here you can witness the remarkable narrow streets of the famous Bazaar, Khan El-Khalili. The 1,000-year old labyrinth of roads will add to your feelings of participating in the living history of this place. Here shopping for the beautiful and unique items made by craftsmen who inherited their skills from generations of the past.

Cairo: Today you will be transported to the peaceful enclave of Coptic Cairo. This place is surrounded by walls that go back to the third century. It includes both Christian and Jews sites. There are several ancient churches in this area. One of the oldest ones is the Church of Saints Sergius and Bacchus erected in the fourth century. It was built there based on the belief that Jesus and his holy family resided in the cave beneath it during their flight into Egypt.

Here you will get a chance to visit the Coptic Museum to gain much insights into the history of early Christianity in Egypt. You will feast your eyes on ivory carvings. Metalwork, frescoes, manuscripts, artifacts, tools, and other objects used in the daily lives of early Christians in Egypt.

From there you get to visit another important site, the Ben Ezra Synagogue. It is believed that this temple was raised at the same site where baby Moses was found floating in the Nile by the daughter of Pharaoh. This was also the site for pilgrimage for many of the North African jews for many centuries. You do not want to miss this place.

Cairo: Get ready today to be submerged into the ancient world of Egypt. Your private guide will take you to the absorbing experience of The Pharaonic Village. Situated in Giza, the village covers some 490,000 square feet of land at Ya’aqoub island. Some 5000 tall trees isolate you from the hustling and bustling streets of Cairo. You will witness actors and actresses living the ancient life of the Egyptian Pharaonic times as they carry out the daily activities of life in ancient Egypt. You can go back in time to witness life in the arts, mumification, farming, pottery making, fishing, baking, etc. You need to bring a good camera with you for scenes that are no longer with us in the 21st century.

Alexandria: You will find your private driver and guide waiting for you after breakfast to head to the bride of the Mediterranean, Alexandria. Being the second largest city in Egypt after Cairo, its vibrancy is never subdued. Your guide will help you to check-in after which you will receive a general tour of the city mostly along the beautiful shores of the Mediterranean known for its fresh air.

Depending on the time of the year, you can then head over to the largest mosque in the city, the El Morsi Abu Abbas mosque. This mosque was built in dedication to Murcian Andalusi Sufi saint Abul Abbas al-Mursi, whose tomb it contains. Afterwards, you may wish to visit the Bibliotheca Alexandrina as one of Egypt’s most important contemporary landmarks and the cultural heart of Alexandria. You will want to visit the curated exhibits below the main library.

Alexandria: This morning, your guide will take you to visit the Catacombs of Kom el-Shuqqafa, a structure rock-cut from the southern slopes of a hill in the Carmous district. Believed to been cut around the 2nd century, it offers a marvelous example of the characteristics of the fusion of Egyptian and Greco-Roman styles.

After exploring the Catacombs, your guide will take you to the dazzling Fort Qaitbey. Constructed on the site where the once mighty Lighthouse of Alexandria resided, this fort has been guarding the entrance of Alexandria since 1480. The fort was build by the Mamluke Sultan, Qaitbey using the rubble from the toppled lighthouse after its destruction in 1303.

Later today you will head back to Cairo.

Cairo: Your tour will end after breakfast today; however, your private driver will take you to the airport after your check-out from your hotel.
