Day 1 - Depart USA

Overnight flight to Cairo.

Day 2 - Arrive Cairo

Trafalgar meets you on arrival at Cairo Airport and transfers you to your hotel. The rest of +your day is free to relax or to begin to explore this fascinating city.

Day 3 - Cairo – Pyramid Excursion – Overnight Train

Sightseeing shows us the Colossus of Ramses II and the Alabaster Sphinx, then to Sakkara to see the Step Pyramid before our highlight visit to the Pyramids of Giza, and the Sphinx. Later, we board our overnight train to Aswan. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

Day 4 - Aswan - Nile Cruise (3 nights)

We board our cruise ship stopping to visit the High Dam, the Temple of Isis on the Island of
Philae and the Unfinished Obelisk.  (Buffet Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)

Cruise Ship: MS Medeaw* (3 nights)

Day 5 - Nile Cruise: Kom-Ombo – Edfu

Today, a felucca ride across the Nile. Then, there is the opportunity to take an optional excursion by air to Abu Simbel. Later, we return to our cruise ship and continue to Kom-Ombo and on to Edfu. (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)

Day 6 - Nile Cruise: Edfu

First to Edfu and then on to Luxor to visit the Temple of Luxor and the amazing Temple of Karnak.  (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)

Day 7 - Disembark – Luxor

This morning, a visit to the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Medinet Habou, Queen Hatshepsut's temple and the Colossus of Memnon. Later, we transfer to our hotel in Luxor. (Breakfast) 

Hotel: Sonesta St. George

Day 8 - Luxor – Cairo (2 nights)

The morning is at leisure. Then we transfer to the airport for our flight to Cairo. On arrival we transfer to our hotel for the night. (Buffet Breakfast) 

Hotel: Sofitel Maadi / Pyramids Park (2 nights)

Day 9 - Cairo sightseeing

Today's sightseeing highlights the Citadel, plus a visit to the Sultan Hassan Mosque and Mohammed Ali's Alabaster Mosque. In Old Cairo we visit the Hanging Church of St. Mary. We'll also visit the Egyptian Museum, home of King Tutankhamun's priceless treasure. Tonight is free, perhaps visit a traditional Egyptian folklore show.(Buffet Breakfast)

Day 10 - Depart Cairo

We transfer you to the airport for your return flight home. (Buffet Breakfast)

Airport Transfers

Airport Transfers Transfers on arrival and departure from Cairo Airport will only be provided to passengers who have advised us of their flight information and are scheduled for first and last day of the tour only.

• London Gateway: Trafalgar passengers purchasing either “Land Only” or “Land and Air” will receive Hotelink transfers during published hours of operation. This is providing that:
• Passengers are staying at a London hotel, booked by Trafalgar on the night of their arrival and the night before their departure.
• Passengers or their Travel Agents supply Trafalgar with accurate flight information not less than 14 days prior to departure.
• European Gateways: Trafalgar passengers purchasing “Land Only” will receive coach transfers at the times published in the brochure at NO extra charge. However, if these “Land Only” passengers arrive outside the brochure advertised coach transfer times they must make their own arrangements at their own expense.
• Passengers purchasing “Land and Air” from Trafalgar will receive coach transfers at times published in the brochure or, if they arrive outside of these set times, then a separate transfer will be booked for them. These transfers will be available only on the days of arrival and departure of the tour.
• Passengers purchasing pre and post tour accommodation must arrange their own transfers regardless of whether or not they have bought “Air” from Trafalgar.
