Trafalgar Travel - Egyptian Voyager

Day 1 - Depart USA

Overnight flight to Cairo.

Day 2 - Arrive Cairo

Trafalgar meets you on arrival at Cairo Airport and transfers you to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 3 - Cairo sightseeing


On our guided tour we visit the Egyptian Museum, home of King Tutankhamun’s priceless treasure. Then we proceed to the Great Pyramids at Giza, including the Great Pyramid of Cheops and we see their inscrutable guardian, the enigmatic Sphinx! (Buffet Breakfast)

Day 4 - Aswan – Nile Cruise (3 nights)

This morning we are transferred to Cairo Airport to board our flight to Aswan. We visit the High Dam and we travel by motorboat to the temple of Isis, rising from the waters of the Nile on the island of Philae. At noon we board our Nile cruise ship. In the afternoon we sail in a traditional Nile ‘felucca’ around Aswan’s Botanical Gardens and view the Aga Khan Mausoleum. (Buffet Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)

Day 5 - Nile Cruise: Kom-Ombo – Edfu

This morning is at leisure or maybe join the optional excursion by air to the temples of Abu Simbel, carved out of the rock by Ramses II. In the afternoon we sail to Kom Ombo to visit the Temple dedicated to the Crocodile God, Sobek, and then on to Edfu. (Buffet Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)

Day 6 - Nile Cruise: Edfu – Luxor

We visit the well-preserved temple of Horus at Edfu, dedicated to the Falcon God. We cruise
on to Luxor where we visit the ancient Temple. (Buffet Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)

Day 7 - Disembark – Luxor – Cairo

We disembark from our cruise ship and we visit the extraordinary Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossus of Memnon on the West Bank and the impressive Karnak Temple on the East Bank before flying back to Cairo. (Buffet Breakfast)

Day 8 - Cairo – Alexandria

We drive through the desert to Alexandria, making a stop at the Coptic Monasteries at Wadi El Natrun (if open). This evening we enjoy dinner in a local restaurant overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner) 

Hotel: Renaissance / Helnan

Day 9 - Alexandria sightseeing – Cairo


Our guided tour shows us the white marble Roman Amphitheatre, Pompy’s Pillar, the Kom Elshokafa Catacomb, the National Museum and El Morsi Abu El Abbas Mosque. Later we drive back to Cairo. (Buffet Breakfast) 

Hotel: Le Meridien Heliopolis

Day 10 - Depart Cairo

We transfer you to the airport for your return flight home. (Buffet Breakfast)
