Kom Ombo is located on a bend in the river Nile about 50 km north of Aswan. Located on the east bank, Kom Ombo is home to an unusual double temple built during the Ptolemaic and Roman periods. The temple is dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Haroeris ( Horus the Elder ). |
 Luxor Many festivals were celebrated in Thebes. The Temple of Luxor was the center of the most important one, the festival of Opet. Built largely by Amenhotep III and Ramesses II , it appears that the temple's purpose was for a suitable setting for the rituals of the festival. |

Edfu The Temple of Edfu is very dramatic. It is dedicated to Horus and was built in Greco Roman times. Horus was the god of the sky whose eyes were the sun and the moon. He became equated with the king, and therefore the King was Horus manifest. |
Abu Simbel & Lake Nasser Area
Abu Si mbel is a set of two temples near the border of Egypt with Sudan. It was constructed for the pharaoh Ramesses II who reigned for 67 years during the 13th century BC (19th Dynasty).

Alexandria The second largest city and the main port of Egypt , Alexandria was built by the Greek architect Dinocrates (332-331 BC) on the site of an old village, Rhakotis, at the orders of Alexander the Great . The city, immortalizing Alexander's name, quickly flourished into a prominent cutural, intellectual , political, and economic metropolis, the remains of which are still evident to this day.
